Strong Public Schools & Opportunity for Youth
As a former Parks and Recreation Supervisor, I understand education is the foundation of a strong community. I firmly believe every child deserves access to a high-quality education, regardless of their zip code. In the North Carolina House, I will work with legislators to ensure federal funding is accessible for all public schools, support our teachers with increased salaries and bonuses, and expand access to CTE programs for high schoolers, along with youth mentorship initiatives in the community.
Good Jobs & Economic Growth
As a business owner and non profit organization leader I know what it takes to maintain sustainability for growth. The stronger our workforce development opportunities are, the better economic mobility we will foster in our communities. I know what it takes to create jobs, meet payroll and project goals. Families should not have to leave High Point to find career advancement opportunities. I am committed to growing an economy that works for working people and entrepreneurs.
Affordable Housing & Healthcare Access
As a long term resident and homeowner I know the importance of affordable housing that doesn't leave you house burdened due to unaffordability. I will push to increase funding for affordable housing programs and expand down-payment assistance for first-time homebuyers, throughout District 60. I will also fight to lower the cost of medicare premiums for the aging population and make sure every family in our district has access to the quality, affordable healthcare they deserve.
Safer Communities through Opportunity
As a civil justice advocate I believe true public safety starts with opportunity and not over-policing. Because when families have what they need in accessible resources, neighborhoods thrive. I will fight to ensure transparent public safety practices that build trust and keep neighborhoods safe while addressing the root causes of violence.
